Burgers, Witches and Movie Popcorn

Katie and John are rocking out while Esther is gone. We got your relative business tidbits right here! In the news this week: a restaurant in Manhattan offers uber-geeky burgers in a very cool way. They’re trying to tax witches and fortunetellers in Romania?! What next? Yahoo Finance offers opinions on what’s overpriced; wanna hear the list? (“I have no life; these things matter to me!”)

The New Face of Radio

Katie and John review Russ’ interview with Pat Fant, co-founder of RFC Media. RFC Media creates custom Internet radio stations for streaming online to promote a brand. A retailer can have their music mix broadcast through a retail store location and, if customers enjoy the mix, they can log onto the retailer’s website and continue listening. Could this be the new face of radio? Oooh, and we have a surprise musical guest. (“We really didn’t want it to get out!”)

Celebrity Endorsements

It’s easy money if you can the work, and who cares what people think when you’re famous anyway?! AAAURGH! What are they THINKING?! Dwight Yoakum’s Chicken Rings? Hulk Hogan’s Frozen Hulkster Cheeseburgers?! Jimmy Buffett margaritas makes perfect sense, but much too often, the endorsing celebrity and the endorsed product are far from the perfect fit. We’ve got some great examples of the not-so-perfect endorsements. (“Nothing like having a product that matches your hair!”)
