Video and Full Interview Text

Leisa: Hello, I'm Lisa Holland-Nelson and welcome to another edition of Women Mean Business where we're going to take you up close and personal with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guess today is Shane Evans, founder and chief operating officer of Massage Heights. Shane, welcome to Women Mean Business.

Shane: Thank you for having me, Lisa.

Leisa: Shane, I usually ask people what they'd tell the next generation who wanted to achieve their success, but you are the next generation. So I'm gonna ask you to imagine we have a younger business or professional woman sitting here with us about to start her career. What advice would you give her to achieve the success that you've achieved?

Shane: I think just be diligent in your pursuit of happiness. And that sounds so cliché. But I really believe that you have to do something that you can be absolutely passionate about. Something that you love and you can't wait to do every single day. When you think about the amount of hours we spend in a work environment, it's often more than we get to spend with the families and our families and loved ones. I think that you've got to do something that you love. But more importantly, even if you don't know what that is right now, just be open. Open yourself and realize that you can do anything. Know that you can do anything. And once you figure it out what it is that you want to do, be diligent about it. Go after it.

Leisa: Thank you very much. There you have it. Extraordinary advice from an extraordinary woman. I'm Lisa Holland-Nelson, co-founder and president of Content Active, Houston's leading web and mobile technology provider. You can find me at or follow me on Twitter @lhnelson. We'll be back again next week with another edition of Women Mean Business.
