Video and Full Interview Text

Leisa: Hello. I'm Leisa Holland-Nelson and welcome to another edition of Women Mean Business, where we're going to take you up close and personal with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guest today is Sarah Cain, founder and owner of Sarah's Florist, a 27-year-old women-owned business here in Houston that Sarah started all by herself.

Sarah: Yes, I did.

Leisa: Sarah, imagine we have a young entrepreneur listening to us today. What advice would you give her so she achieves the success that you've achieved?

Sarah: I would tell her that you never ever take your eye off the ball. You never give up. You never let anything get in your way. You see the vision. You work for that vision, and you achieve it. You surround yourself around professional women or men that can give you advice and take you to the next level.

Leisa: Did you have a business plan and update it all the time?

Sarah: Yes, I did have a business plan. I had a business coach that would help me, and you had a goal setting. Every week a goal setting, and you would achieve that goal and make sure that you did so.

Leisa: And you're still doing that today.

Sarah: I'm still doing that today.

Leisa: Thank you very much. There you have it. Extraordinary advice from an extraordinary woman. I'm Leisa Holland-Nelson, president and cofounder of Content Active, Houston's leading Web and mobile design and development company. You can find me at contentactive.com or follow me on Twitter @LHNelson. We'll be back again next week with another edition of Women Mean Business.
