It’s all about the details! Women Mean Business host Leisa Holland-Nelson interviews Patsy Lesley, founder and president of Lesley & Associates, a facilities relocation management firm.
Leisa: Hello. I'm Leisa Holland-Nelson, and welcome to another edition of Women Mean Business, where we're going to take you up close and person with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guest today is Patsy Lesley, founder and president of Lesley and Associates, a facilities relocation management firm. Patsy, tell me about your staff.
Patsy: We have ten employees. We're like a small family. One of my employees has been there 2 years and the rest of them, the least amount of service is 8 years, so it's anywhere from 8 to - and of course, I've been there 28 - so 8 to 28 years.
Leisa: And are there lots of women on your staff?
Patsy: Yes, there are. I have eight women and two men.
Leisa: It sounds like this is a good business for women. Is there something we do particularly well that suits your business?
Patsy: Yes, I think so. I am very detail-oriented and that's what's made me successful in doing this, and I find that skill set is prevalent in women.
Leisa: So I'm guessing, beyond just being detail-oriented, that this is a good place for women to work but it's probably also a good place for women to own businesses.
Patsy: It is.
Leisa: Are there a lot of competitors of yours that are women-owned businesses?
Patsy: Yes, yes. Absolutely.
Leisa: That's good news for all of us.
Patsy: Yes. Yes.
Leisa: There you have it, another extraordinary woman doing extraordinary things.
