Women Mean Business host Leisa Holland-Nelson, president of ContentActive, interviews Sheryl Rapp, founder of The UP Experience.
Leisa: Hello, this is Leisa Holland-Nelson and welcome to another edition of Women Mean Business, where we are going to take you up close and personal with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guess today is Sheryl Rapp, founder of the Up Experience. Sheryl, tell us quickly what the Up Experience is.
Sheryl: The Up Experience is a one-day event on October 25, where we bring in 16 thought leaders from all over the world that we talked for 20 minutes each.
Leisa: Wow. How long have you been doing it and tell me some of the highlight speakers that you had here.
Sheryl: This will be our fifth year in doing it and we have about 650 people in the audience and we've had anywhere from Malcolm Gladwell to Steve Wozniak, to Michael Eisner, to Bill Nye talking about the environment, Sal Khan talking about the Khan Academy – just amazing people doing amazing things from all over the world.
Leisa: So across every subject?
Sheryl: That's right, every subject affecting our future, from global issues to the economy, to the environment, to technology.
Leisa: So there you have it: another extraordinary woman doing extraordinary things and bringing incredible intellectual opportunity to the citizens of Houston, Texas. I'm Leisa Holland-Nelson, and this has been another edition of Women Mean Business. See you next week.
