School of Business 01/07/2012
Russ and Leisa Holland-Nelson present the show about the entrepreneurs, the gunslingers of our economy. (Well, we ARE in Houston, aren’t we?!) Includes: the BusinessMakers Quote of the Week—more wisdom from Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher; This Week in Business History includes the patent for the elevator, the invention of the first Frisbee and Super Bowl III’s MVP Broadway Joe Namath (we choose only the greatest moments for our curriculum!); and the Jargon Challenge Round—trendy technospeak that YOU should know.
The Eatsie Boys
Esther Steinfeld Freedman interviews Ryan Soroka, Alex Vassilakidis and Matt Marcus, three childhood buddies who launched their food truck a year ago to rave reviews. When the brutal Texas heat made us all miserable, the Boys turned their “truck” interests to ice cream, offering such taste treats as Professor Peach, Pass the Pistachio and Shake Your Coconuts. Ever the innovators, the Boys are now launching 8th Wonder Brewery. Life as a nomadic chef is not exactly what you would expect!
