Video and Full Interview Text

Leisa: Hello, I'm Leisa Holland-Nelson and welcome to another edition of Women Mean Business, where we're going to take you up close and personal with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guest today is Sarah Groen, Director and co-founder of SURGE, an energy accelerator here in Houston, Texas. Welcome, Sarah.

Sarah: Thanks.

Leisa: You are very young to be so accomplished but I bet there's something next in your life. What do you think it's gonna be?

Sarah: You now, to be honest, I definitely don't know for sure but what I do know is I'm gonna continue to forge my own path, so I had opportunities to go back into the corporate world and I really wanted to focus on entrepreneurship, so that's what I did and I've put myself in a position to where I can continue to take advantage of opportunities like that, whether it be, you know, continuing to foster SURGE over the next several years, which I would love to do regardless of what else I end up doing, or you know, going to actually work within a start-up, coming up with an idea and starting my own, or even kind of moving into venture investing.

Leisa: So the possibilities are really endless?

Sarah: They are, you know, if it's something that I think is exciting, I'm willing to take the risk on it and if it's gonna make me happy, then I'm gonna be interested in it.

Leisa: I'm excited for you. There you have it. Another extraordinary woman doing extraordinary things. I'm Leisa Holland-Nelson, President and co-founder of Content Active, Houston's leading Web and mobile technology company. You can find me at or follow me on Twitter @lhnelson.
