School of Business 03/26/11

Russ is on his own today as he presents the show about the people who REALLY deserve credit for the expansion of our economy: the entrepreneurs and the innovators. Russ has the scoop on our BusinessMaker Awards presented two weeks ago at The Tasting Room. And, on This Week in Business History—Alaska joins the U.S., Fleetwood Mac is an “overnight” success, and IBM introduces PS2 and OS2.

William "Whurley" Hurley - Chaotic Moon Studios

Russ is in Austin catching up with former BusinessMaker guest William Hurley—better known as “whurley” among his followers and co-founder of Chaotic Moon. Whurley’s start-up is still out there doing amazing things, and their latest project is no exception. Chaotic Moon was integral in the design and launch of The Daily, a digital news publication for the iPad and one of the largest “App” launches ever. The Daily, obviously a high stakes project, comprises many “firsts” and, by all accounts, is getting rave reviews.

Gaurav Khandelwal - ChaiONE

Russ revisits a previous BusinessMaker interviewee, Gaurav Khandelwal, winner of our recent Bootstrapper of the Year Award. ChaiONE provides strategy consulting, then builds an application to execute the company’s solution. It’s been a great year and Gaurav talks about some of his latest projects, including MobGenie, a platform that empowers users to build their own iPhone Apps.
