WMB host Leisa Holland-Nelson, president of ContentActive, interviews Patsy Lesley, founder of Lesley & Associates, a facilities relocation management firm.
Leisa: Hello, I'm Leisa Holland-Nelson, and welcome to another edition of Women Mean Business where we're going to take you up close and personal with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guest today is Patsy Leslie, Founder and President of Leslie and Associates, a facility relocation management firm. Patsy, I know, that when you started this company, you just completed a successful project, and you made one phone call and got your client and started your business. I doubt it's been that easy ever since. Can you tell us how you've maintained it and some of your words of wisdom?
Patsy: One thing that was really clear to me when I started the business is that I did not want to be in the business of cold calling. So the only way that I could see to avoid that was to do the best I could, make my clients happy, create a nice network with other vendors that work on projects, and that's what's worked for me.
Leisa: So the vendors that you work with, what type of firms are they?
Patsy: Architectural, general contractors, commercial real estate brokers, technology consultants, that makes up a project.
Leisa: Just really a broad network.
Patsy: Yes, yes.
Leisa: Well, that's wonderful. That's great advice. There you have it. Another extraordinary woman doing extraordinary things. I'm Leisa Holland-Nelson, President and Cofounder of Content Active, Houston's leading web and mobile technology company. You can find me at ContentActive.com or follow me on Twitter at LHNelson. We'll be back again next week with another edition of Women Mean Business.
