Nathan Alder was a student at Brigham Young University in 2007 when he founded his outdoors technology company. During a scuba diving trip, he learned that noble gases can be used to provide insulation from frigid temperatures. He began recruiting a team to help him develop a line of “Klymit-Kontrolled” outdoor clothing and gear.
