Russ took a trip up to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to Texas Christian University for the TCU’s Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. Russ visits with David Minor, the director of the Neeley Entrepreneurship Center at TCU and with Brian Happel, Ft. Worth market president, corporate banking, of Compass Bank, presenting sponsor for the Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. Plus hear from 19 entrepreneurs still in high school.

TCU’s Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards

The TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Program is a scholarship program that recognizes young high school age entrepreneurs for their success in business.

Russ visits with David Minor, the director of the Neeley Entrepreneurship Center at TCU; and with Brian Happel, Ft. Worth market president, corporate banking, of Compass Bank, presenting sponsor for the Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. The multi-faceted Neeley Entrepreneurship program is ranked one of the top in the nation; its Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization has more than 400 members and is affiliated with 140 schools nationwide. In February, TCU held its Young Entrepreneurship Days and announced the winner of its Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. In this segment, Minor describes the growth of his own landscape services company, and gives details about the TCU competition. The Texas Youth Entrepreneur competition allows high school entrepreneurs to compete for scholarships and culminates in an awards banquet on the TCU campus.
