The School of Business for March 15, 2008

It's Business School as un-usual with Russ and John, with Quote of the Week, This Week in Business History, The PKF Entrepreneur's Playbook, Navigating Business Jargon, and Dumbest Moments.

Gary Evans of GreenHunter Energy Inc.

Gary Evans, founder and CEO of GreenHunter Energy, has assembled a radically-diversified portfolio of alternative energy production businesses, among them, a biodiesel refinery, wind farms and a biomass electrical generation plant that is being upgraded to be fueled by cow manure and wood waste. Evans also founded Magnum Hunter Resources in 1985, then sold it to Cimarex Energy in June 2005 for $2.2 billion. Russ conducts a fascinating interview with this alternative energy guru who "jumped ship" from an active career in the fossil fuels industry.

Flashback - John Hofmeister

Flashback to March 6, 2008 when the Houston Technology Center hosted its Technology Venture Capital Conference and Russ interviewed John Hofmeister, president of Shell Oil Co. Hofmeister is a member of the Department of Energy's new Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technical Advisory Committee and a member of the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee and the Policy Committee of the American Petroleum Institute. He offers insightful and wide-ranging opinions on the U.S.'s "free market economy" on Energy, and on our domestic response to energy demand.
