Featuring entrepreneurial resources & hundreds of interviews with make it happen entrepreneurs

Episode 166: Lights, Cell Phone, Action!

Episode 166 originally broadcast on August 09, 2008

The School of Business for August 9, 2008

Russ and John present the entertaining but informative school of "we teach, you profit." Includes: BusinessMakers Quote of the Week - inspiring observation from author Dennis Healy; This Week in Business History presents constructive moments from our collective past such as the Tower of Pisa, the Berlin Wall, and the birth of the BusinessMakers' own Steve Wozniak; Navigating Business Jargon - buzzwords and technospeak that require more disclaimers; and Dumbest Moments in Business History - China's "one child" program is not going to work out well.

Bhaskar Roy of Qik.com

Russ reports in from an on-the-road interview with Bhaskar Roy, co-founder and vice president of product marketing at Qik.com. Qik, "a little piece of software," lets contributors use their cell phone to stream video live directly to the Qik website or to their Facebook and MySpace. Cell phone to cell phone live video must be just around the corner. Also, users can use their cell phones like a camcorder and then manage their recorded streams through individual profile pages at Qik.com. Qik.com is set up to be a platform moreso than a destination website. It's a fascinating new technology with incredible potential.

Flashback - John Hofmeister
