Episode 114: Featured Guest - Christopher Gardner
Russ talks with Chris Gardner the owner and CEO of Christopher Gardner International Holdings with offices in New York, Chicago, and San Francisco. Gardner is a self-made millionaire, entrepreneur, motivational speaker and philanthropist who, during the early 1980s, struggled with homelessness while raising his toddler son. His personal struggle of establishing himself as a stockbroker while managing fatherhood and homelessness is portrayed in the 2006 motion picture The Pursuit of Happyness, starring actor Will Smith.

There really are no words…I could say AMAZING! Or I could say INCREDIBLE! or I could say INSPIRATIONAL!!!!!!
However, these words just do NOT do justice to the magnitude this man has had on the world.

Great movie and life story. As someone who is a broker in the fixed income world, I can appreciate just a fraction of this story. As a father of 3, the real story was the story of a father taking responsiblity and love for his son. That is the real story and the lesson for everyone in your life story. I saw his movie with tears in eyes,interview on TV and listened in radio show. His love towards his children as a single parent and chris’s approach towards an oppurtunity,his belief “Its ok to fail, but not OK to quit” are most key and inspirational ones.

I have questions for Chris Gardner, I could not sleep the other night while I was staying at my teachers moms house. The TV didnt work but the dvd player did and they had the dvd of The Pursuit of Happyness and I stayed up and watched it three times. How could I encourage myself and others to make dreams come true. Right now I’m working to pay off a big sum of debt and I know I will, it will just take time, but in the mean time I’m wondering if I should finish school while paying the debt or if I should just keep working. I’m not 100% convinced about what I want to do because many careers appeal to me, I just need to stick with one. The inspiring dedication and life of Chris Gardner reminds me that I can do anything I put my mind to no matter how deep in the abyss I may me. You know what they say, if you hit rock bottom, the only way to go is up. But unfortunately some people prefer to stay there. Enjoy life and be well.

Well, its very hard to believe that he had struggled in his life. I saw the movie and have tears in my eyes. It inspires everyone. All the best Chris.
This is a lifetime lesson for men in general, i’m still young and professional and had to go through a lot as a young person, by watching Mr Gardner’s movie l come to realise that GOD prepares leaders in different ways, what he went through a long time ago made him who he is today.
May everyone see success through Chris Gardner.
