Episode 73: Michael Arrington, TechCrunch

TechcrunchIt’s not everyday that you get to turn a hobby into a thriving business. That’s exactly what Michael Arrington founder and Editor of TechCrunch has done. Started on June 11, 2005, Techcrunch is a weblog dedicated to reviewing and profiling new Web products and companies. There haven’t been many technology related sites that have exploded onto the scene as quickly as Techcrunch. In just over a year Techcrunch has been an authority on new companies and Web 2.0 technology.

Today, Techcrunch is ranked 9th by Technorati and has more than 115,000 RSS subscriptions. Michael spends most of his time working on Techcrunch and has also launched a series of related web sites known as the Techcrunch Network.

Russ is joined by Kelsey Ruger to talk with Michael about his years as a corporate attorney where he worked with clients like IdeaLab, Netscape, Pixar and Apple.
