It was good to hear that George is still as feisty as ever. I knew George 20 years ago when I invested in one of his companies, TUNE IN magazine. He was such an inspiring guy…always had entepreneurial irons in the fire and I loved to hear ahim talk about his ideas. I even persued getting a patent on one of my own ideas. Getting the patent was half the fun…doing the research and getting my teenage daughter to participate was a great educational experience for both of us.

I now own my own fun online business and as we celebrate our 18th year I credit George for the inspiration of “nothing ventured, nothing gained.”

JUST READ YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT GEO. BALLAS, DADDY OF “THE WEED EATER”.
I HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING WITH AN IDEA FOR A “VEHICLE EMERGENCY WARNING SYSTEM” (VEWS ).FOR ABOUT $100 , WHEN INSTALLED IN ALL VEHICLES, IT WOULD ELIMENATE SINGLE CAR ACCIDENTS THAT HAVE GONE UNLOCATED FOR AS MUCH AS 8 TO 10 DAYS. IT WILL ALSO STOP CARS FROM PILING-UP INTO ACCIDENTS HIDDEN IN FOG, ETC. ( SUCH PILE-UPS HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN THE NEWS RECENTLY.) THIS WILL ELIMENATE FIRE / COLLISIONS AS OCCURRED IN THE TUNNEL IN CALIF.
TO BE MOST EFFECTIVE, IT SHOULD BE INSTALLED IN RVERY VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. THE MARKET IS HUGE. WHO CAN ADVISE ME ON HOW TO PROCEED??

I was surprised and happy to hear George again. It has been many years since I have talked to him. In my memories of many wonderful people I have met in my life, George Ballas is a standout. On my website, agrm-lv.com , I have written short stories about some interesting people and I include Mr. Ballas on that website in a tongue-in-cheek story called, “I Invented The Weed Eater. George Ballas Invented The Industry”. And if you ever read this Mr. Ballas, I want to thank you for your inspiration. My life is greatly enriched by having known and worked with you.

I like to let you know that George Ballas did not invent the Weedeater.I DANIEL TAIBO was the inventor. It all started in the summer of 1967 when I was cutting the grass in my front yard.I lived at 7718 ERATH ST.in Houston,Texas 77072 and as I was cutting the lawn I dreamed up the famous invention of the Weed Eater and the Lawn Wacker or lawn mower with plastic cords. The Gutierez family lived right behind us on the other street in the corner and they brought a couple friend of theirs over to visit us, they were George Ballas and his Mexican-American wife Maria Luisa we had never met them before.Me and Ballas sat next to each other and we started talking and I told him about the weed eater invention and how it worked I had dreamed up a couple of weeks before.I had even called a patent lawyer in 1967 about developing the invention but the cost was to great we were just a working family.I was 14 years old when I created the famous invention of the Weedeater.Think of all the money and the huge industry I generated an I never have gotten a single penny or recognition.GEORGE BALLAS IS A FAKE! He might be a good businessman. DANIEL TAIBO 6926 Misty Morning Trace,Richmond,Texas 77407 Cell.832-640-2290

But he might be a good business man.
